The first step is to create folders

IMPORTANT

The .MicroSoftWindowsMovieMaker (MSWMM) file is only an address to your folders.
If the folder is relocated a big red X will appear in your time line and story board
To relocate the image click on the cross and select BROWSE and navigate to the image.

Creating FOLDERS

Different versions of Windows offer different features in MM and not all going from a recent version to an older version can create problems – best to do all the work on the one PC

All files need to be saved into these folders so Movie Maker can access them while you are creating your project.
Task:
Create a main folder and subfolders to store your files in.
Using the folders each day:
At the end of each lesson copy the folder onto a memory stick.
Instructions:

  • Right click in the area to create the folder
  • Click on NEW/FOLDER and type your name and press ENTER
  • Double click to open up the folder and create the following sub folders

o Images
o Edited Images
o Sound
o Project
o Movies

Saving your project
It is important to save your project .MSWMM file periodically and also at the end of the day
Instructions:

1. Click on FILE/SAVE PROJECT AS/
2. Save into your PROJECT folder the .MSWMM file
3. Click on sub folder/PROJECT
